Tonight we are sipping Conte di Santa Chiara '08 Amarone

Much like a live lobster, I could never, EVER pick out a live turkey to be slaughtered and end up on my Thanksgiving table the next day. I know it's hypocritical, but I don't eat legs, wings, anything that reminds be they were walking/flying around and had parents. Teresa has the same problem: Click for a preview of Meet Before You Eat with Teresa & Joe.
Tonight we look in on the Gorgas, Manzos and Giudices at Thanksgiving dinner. Click To Preview Thanksgiving with the Gorgas. Real Housewives Of New Jersey started with the brouhaha we watched at the Gorga christening and has had action every since! Last week we saw Teresa penning an apology letter extending the olive branch to her estranged brother. Will we see a Gorga Reunion or will it be the polar opposite?
Conte di Santa Chiara Amarone
Almost unheard of, this Amarone is less than $30 and is really good. Admittedly, it is not as rich as others but this Amarone can hold its own. The color is extremely dark with violet and orchid hues. On the nose the violet carries over from color to fragrance. Violets mixed with pomegranate and elderberry pleases your sense of smell. The aroma of this Amarone prepares your mouth for the fruit backdrop of raisins, dried black currents, plum and loganberry. Slightly tannic, earthy mouth feel with a lush finish that has a lingering hints nutmeg and anise. Chiara Amarone is great sipping alone but it would also be amazing with the Gorga's Thanksgiving dinner.
